Dear Friends,

The X-1 team is on FAVAO! And we couldn’t be more EXCITED! Follow me for the next 12 weeks as I journey through the FAVAO lifestyle reset. I will be updating you daily of my progress, giving you tips from my experiences, helpful conversions and much much more!

I would love to hear about your own personal journey, helpful tips, or any questions you have.

 

Let’s Begin

I received my Kick-Start Women’s XanGo Favao Program and couldn’t wait to read it!

I opened it and started flying through the sections!

The first few pages talk about the FAVAO lifestyle program, a welcome from founder Aaron Garrity, and information on the two trainers that have joined the FAVAO team, Trish Allen & Kristi Attaway.

 

Section 1- Ready…Set… FAVAO

This section has The Introduction, The Transformation, and the Get Started Now Sections.

 

Section 2- Goal Achievement

This section goes over Goal Achievement, Goal Guidelines, Take a Look Inside(in this section you get to put your before picture in and write next to it 10 words/phrases about how you the person in the picture is feeling on the inside. On the same page you get to write down 10 words/phrases you WANT so see in the after picture and will add the “after” picture there in 12 weeks. This seems a little silly at first, but it’s a great way to really be honest with yourself.), Goal Worksheet ( on this page you get to write down your outcome, purpose, strategy, accountability partner, and an affirmation. I chose my husband Derrick to be my accountability partner and decided to set Friday’s at 6:30pm to go over your progress and check in with eachother.),Measure Up (in this section you take all your starting measurements, for Women your hips and waist, and also weigh in. Remember, if you are not honest all you are doing is setting yourself up for disappointment. It is important in this section to write down what day and time you will be measuring and weighing in.)

 

Section 3- Nutrition Method

The nutrition method has 6 parts

1.   Eat your meals on time- Set reminders on your phone/computer

2.   Eat the same foods for the whole week- SIMPLE! And helps you burn more!

3.   Follow the meal plan- The meals are PROVEN to burn unwanted fat!

4.   Snack Carefully- Candy Bars and Potato Chips aren’t on there!

5.   Measure your food- Yes with a measuring cup!

6.   Eat Cleanly- Not rinsing dishes, but local, hormone, and antibiotic free foods ( I personally try to buy some things from a local farm a few miles away, but for the most part I’ve put myself on a strict food budget, so I do most of my shopping at walmart.)

Meal Prep Made Easy- 4 Steps (Took me about 5 hours, but this will improve week over week)

1.   Go Shopping- I did my shopping quickly with the FAVAO Grocery list that is included in the program book. It took about 1 hour and I spent about $80 for 2 people on the program.

2.   Prep Bulk Foods- Tried to do this but I was trying to cook dinner at the same time with only 2 pots.

3.   Chop Fresh Foods

4.   Assemble Your Meals- I LOVE having everything done for a whole week for my husband and myself!

Meal Prep Tools- I knew I didn’t have enough containers, so as soon as I realized this I got on the computer to look at local adds to see if any containers were on sale. I found Rubbermaid 34 piece set for $12 at target. Can we say STEAL OF A DEAL!!! I ran out and bought 2 (one for me, one for Derrick) but after assembling food I am going back to buy 2 more sets. There are 21 meals and 21 snacks per week per person, so for our house that’s 42 meals and 42 snacks! Make room in your fridge! Other things to have: measuring cups, measuring spoons, water bottles ( you need to be drinking 3 liters of water I prefer to use my XanGo 3sixty5 water bottle that is 1 liter, or my glass XanGo water bottle which is about ½ a liter),

What to do about the “I’m Stuffed!” and “I’m Starving!” feelings.

 

Section 4- Workout Method

Workout Program- 4 distinct methods within the FAVAO program,

What’s your Level? ( I selected that I am Active, so I will follow that program. There are also beginner and advanced options.) Build Your Base- take the stair, park farther away, walk/bike to a destination., Personal Trainer- Gym or Home workouts? ( I chose home workouts to save money and then reviewed what items I needed to purchase. The program says to budget $100-$150, but I only spent $50 and will tell you how!)

 

Section 5- 12 weeks

This is the breakdown of what you will do over the next 12 weeks.

 

Alexa’s FAVAO Notes:

The Grocery List in the FAVAO program book doesn’t tell you how much to buy, so prepare your list before you head to the grocery store!

 

Alexa’s Grocery List ( for 2 people and some extra for some things)

Store: Walmart

7 bananas

3.5 lbs yams/sweet potatoes

14 cups cabbage (2 lbs) I bought the 3 bags of the pre shredded stuff

6 Apples

5 Grapefruit

Bag of oranges

42 oz Canned Chicken Breasts- I know you can get the 6 pack at Costco

2 5lb bags of Frozen Chicken Breasts

Low Carb/Calories-30 calories for 2 tbs ( I couldn’t find one for 30 calories, so I purchased Walden Farms Calorie Free Honey BBQ Sauce. This also was a bit pricey for BBQ Sauce $4)

 

 

4 Dozen Eggs

3.5 Cups Oat ( I bought Walmart Brand and the quick ones)

Lg. Tub Nonfat Plain Greek Yogurt

32oz. Brown Rice

32 oz. Black Beans

14 Whole Grain Tortillas- The FAVAO list says 80 calories, but I couldn’t find one with 80, so I purchased the Whole Wheat 100 Calorie tortillas made by La Tortilla Factory. They come in packs of 8 so I bought to and they we’re a bit pricey at $4 per 8.)

 

 

Salsa (The FAVAO List says “salsa”, so I figured fresh is best and decided to make my own!)

         3 Tomatoes

         1 Jalapeno

         ¼ Green Bell Pepper

         ¼ White Onion

         1 Bunch Cilantro

         4 Limes

         3  Medium Cloves of Fresh Garlic

         ½ tbs Salt

String Cheese (The FAVAO list says “string cheese”, so I decided to get the light string cheese)

28 Whole Grain Crackers (about 90 calories for 2)

 

Groceries cost me about $80, I thought at first that it was EXPENSIVE, but then I figured it out and the total per meal was $0.95 which is $5.70 per day per person. At what restaurant can you get a healthy nutritious meal for $0.95?

 

Home Workout Essentials

 

 

If you have never been to one, and you LOVE to save money!, you NEED to check it out!

I headed over to Ross and I bought a yoga mat, stability ball (I'm 5'4", so I bought a 55" ball), 4lb. dumbells, and resistance bands for less than $50! I saved over 50% and felt awesome!

 

Containers for Food Prep

Get to the target nearest you to pick up the Rubbermaid 34 piece set for only $12, you save $6. I bought one for Derrick, and one for myself but I am going back to purchase more so I can have ALL our meals in clean, organized (they snap together), BPA free containers.

Food Plan Week 1

Since I HATE the smell of eggs and don’t like eating them really  I decided to hard boil my eggs chop them up in my chopper from pampered chef ,then add my salsa, throw into a tortilla and microwave for one minute. Quick, Easy, Convenient

Since I work on the computer all day I substituted 1 serving of some dehydrated apples for my Power Snack Fruit and String Cheese. Mine have no added sugars, be careful. Maybe make your own!

Black Beans are easy to do in a crock pot!

I boiled a lot of my chicken and then shredded it! I think it’s better for salads.

Make sure to check off your daily checklist as you work through your day.
